I had a BYU Jazz Festival yesterday (Saturday), so the Jazz Band played at it.
I'm pretty sure we did pretty good, because the judge didn't have much to say. It was a lot of fun. It was from noon to 11:00. It was funny though when I went to dinner the guitarist (James) came up to me and started complaining to me that he couldn't find a real Coke. And how he went up to one of the places at the food court type thingy and asked why they didn't sell anything with caffeine in it and how they started explaining that they were Mormon and couldn't drink it and how he thought it was really stupid. It was kind of a had to be there moment, the look on his face was really funny. Then after dinner we started making paper airplanes and trying to throw them up on a banister type thing that was over us, and ended up banning our drummer (Steven) from making paper airplanes. One of his hit our trombonist in the nose and cut it, and about killed this old man. And Steven, just so he won't get in trouble, turns to me and starts mouthing out words like we were having a conversation. So I look up to this kid (I was sitting down and he was standing) that looked like he was having a conversation with the wall, it was pretty freaky. So then, we went to a Jazz Concert (still at BYU) and had a prayer before it started, it was kind of weird. Normally, you don't have a prayer before a concert, but it was cool. The Saxophone player at the beginning was absolutely amazing! He could make those elephant noises on his saxophone!! It was so cool! That's about all that happened there, it was really cool though.
Hope you all have a great week!
